Key Points:

  • AI platform for STEM education, Vidya AI helps students learn from recorded lectures by turning academic videos into interactive study tools while supporting professors with automated grading.
  • The platform is used by universities in the US and India, serving 500+ students and processing thousands of academic videos and queries.
  • It reduces faculty grading workload, supports early student assessment, and is backed by NVIDIA Inception, Google Cloud, and AWS Activate.

Vidya AI has launched an AI platform for STEM education to support STEM education by assisting students with learning and helping professors manage grading and assessments. The platform was founded by Dr Pingakshya Goswami and Dhritiman Talukdar and focuses on improving academic efficiency in universities.

The system converts recorded lectures and academic videos into interactive study tools. According to company data, more than 500 students worldwide are using the platform. It has processed over 4,000 academic videos and responded to more than 10,000 student queries through artificial intelligence analysis.

Platform Use In Universities

Professors from institutions including The University of Texas at Dallas, University of Houston Clear Lake, San Jose State University, Santa Clara University, Troy University in Alabama, and Manipal University in India are using the AI platform for STEM education to create and grade assignments, exams, and projects.

Faculty feedback indicates that the tool supports early assessment of student understanding and reduces grading time. Some professors reported that teaching assistants were able to complete grading tasks more efficiently, allowing them to focus on academic research activities.

Students have reported improved understanding in technical subjects such as VLSI through video analysis and structured explanations provided by the system.

Focus On Academic Support In STEM

Vidya AI states that professors spend an average of 33 hours per week on grading and assessment related tasks, while students typically receive limited office consultation hours each week. The AI platform for STEM education is designed to address these gaps by providing automated grading support and on demand academic assistance.

The founding team has academic and technical backgrounds in electrical engineering and machine learning. Dr Goswami earned a doctorate in electrical engineering from The University of Texas at Dallas and previously worked in semiconductor and machine learning roles before focusing on the company. Dhritiman Talukdar serves as chief technology officer.

Vidya AI is part of the NVIDIA Inception Program and has received cloud credit support from Google, AWS Activate, and ElevenLabs. The company reports that it is working toward integration with Canvas to allow access within existing learning management systems.

The platform is positioned as a support tool for universities seeking to improve assessment efficiency and student access to academic guidance in STEM disciplines.
