Focus on Educational Innovation and Technology Integration
On September 6, CanvasCon 2024, an annual edtech conference organized by Instructure, the developer of Canvas LMS, will bring together educators, administrators, and education leaders in the Philippines to explore the evolving landscape of education. The event, hosted at the Grand Hyatt Manila, aims to address the emerging trends, opportunities, and challenges presented by new technologies, with a particular focus on generative AI, enhancing teacher efficiency, and improving accessibility in education.
Keynote speakers at the conference include Professor Martin Bean CBE, CEO of The Bean Centre and a prominent figure in the field of digital education. With extensive experience as Vice-Chancellor of RMIT University and The Open University, and as General Manager of Microsoft’s global Education Products Group, Bean will offer his insights on the transformative trends shaping education. His presentation will explore how educational institutions can harness innovation and disruption to create more engaging and sustainable learning experiences for students.
Ryan Lufkin, Vice President for Global Academic Strategy at Instructure, will also be returning to the Philippines as a keynote speaker. Following his talk on ‘AI with Boundaries’ at last year’s event, Lufkin will this year delve into the evolving role of AI in education and discuss what the future holds for educational institutions as they navigate the challenges and opportunities presented by these advancements.
Highlighting Local Initiatives and Collaborative Solutions
Instructure’s Managing Director for Asia Pacific, Harrison Kelly, emphasized the significance of the proactive approach taken by educational institutions in the Philippines toward adopting technology-enriched learning methods.
