IDP Education has partnered with Bravo Migration to provide onshore visa support for international students across Australia, placing registered migration agents in IDP offices from July 1 as visa regulations face increased scrutiny.
IDP Shifts Visa Services to Bravo Migration
IDP Education, one of the world’s largest international student placement organisations, has announced a partnership with Bravo Migration to deliver onshore visa support services for international students and migrants in Australia.
Under the agreement, a dedicated team of registered migration agents from Bravo Migration will operate from IDP student placement offices nationwide. The arrangement is expected to begin on July 1.
The partnership comes as Australia maintains closer oversight of onshore student visa applications, particularly those viewed as extending a student’s stay without demonstrating genuine academic progression.
New Model Responds to Regulatory Requirements
Australian regulations require onshore visa advice and support to be provided by registered migration agents. Not all international students need to apply for a new visa, and commissions for onshore visa applications are prohibited, making such services fee-based rather than tied to university recruitment agreements.
Jane Li, regional operations director for IDP Australasia, said the company selected Bravo Migration because of its experience and compliance standards.
“We selected Bravo to be our official partner as they have a proven track record of delivering quality services for their customers that meet the highest standards of compliance and trust,” Li said.
Li said the arrangement allows IDP Education counselors to concentrate on academic and course guidance while migration specialists handle more complex visa matters.
“This partnership means IDP’s team of expert counsellors can focus on providing course advice for our customers, while knowing there are registered migration agents on site for those who have more specific visa queries,” she said.
Industry Pressures Drive Operational Changes
The announcement follows a challenging period for IDP Education. The company has experienced a significant decline in its share price over the past five years as governments in Australia, Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom introduced stricter immigration policies affecting international students.
The changing policy environment has contributed to job losses and business restructuring across the organisation.
IDP previously employed its own registered migration agents. According to information provided to The PIE News, those services will be replaced by Bravo Migration personnel across all Australian student placement offices under the new partnership model.
Erica Carneiro, co-founder and director of Bravo Migration, said the collaboration aims to improve access to specialised migration advice for international students.
“We are incredibly proud to partner with IDP Australia in this next chapter,” Carneiro said. “International students need more than general migration and visa information — they need clear, specialist advice delivered by experienced professionals who understand both the law and the practical realities of planning a future in Australia.”
Carneiro said the partnership would allow Bravo Migration to expand its services while working alongside a major player in the international education sector.
“This partnership allows us to provide that support at scale, while working alongside one of the most recognised names in international education,” she said.
